'Big City' is another song on which Chris really comes out of his comfort zone and shows his bluesy sensibilities. After 2 more decent songs comes ' Nothing is Nothing' which has one of the best guitar solos I have ever heard. The album kicks off with 'Sea is Black' which is a soulful mid-tempo rocker with distinct 80s flavours. Not to mention Chris does a great job on vocals too. I wonder why Chris can't go back to AE and play with his big brother again but I guess that's a good thing as Jeff Loomis is doing a splendid job in AE although restrained. I was not disappointed, though it does not sound like AE at all it has the same uplifting, achingly beautiful guitar notes that Chris weaves so wonderfully.
